Field Trip

So I'm in a photography class now at hated University of Utah's continuing education program. I think the program is for all their football players that never graduate. We had a field trip this weekend where we went to a park in SLC to take pictures. The park was really ugly so there wasn't a whole lot to work with. It was more to practice our technical skills anyway. The teacher walked around with us and gave some technical and composition help, but mostly we just wandered around and practices. Here is a slideshow of what I took. The one night picture is of the Utah state capitol and was taken earlier this week. These shots aren't all that great, but they're what was left after I weeded out all the "practice" shots. It's amazing at how many pictures I thought were worth taking at the time but once I went through them I wondered what I was thinking. I always appreciate feedback.

Great work Trev, very impressive. My fav's were: state capitol, eagle with flag in back ground, looking down the end of the logs, and the lonely bball court. Looks like the class is really paying off. -Ev

I think you should give a photography 101 class while were at Sun River...What do you say?

Trevor, I am really impressed with you photos. I'm excited to see what else you come up with. You should come do photos at the Japanese garden in Portland!

Did I miss the memo that you had a photography blog????

I try not to cringe too much when I look at the "pre-biggest loser" photos of us. How a new and skinnier family photo in March when we come to visit?

Between you and Les there are lots of artistic eyes in your marriage. Impressive.

Nice. I've been inspired to schedule my own field trip. Where should I go?

So I just turned in a photo that looks exactly like one that you recently took (of a tree...). It was not planned, I guess it goes to show that great photography minds think alike. I wish I spent more time on my photos, but I do what I can. Sorry to disappoint you with the no Missouri pictures, I was really looking forward to that. Maybe next time.

Liberty Park in Salt Lake? You should go there on Sunday afternoons in the summer when all the hippies are out beating on drums and smoking weed. It is crazy. The pictures rock though. I'm impressed.
